** Isle of Wight walkabout **

Hello there - before Autumn finally set in we were out and about a bit so why not come for a "walkabout" with us

We went to Shanklin up on the cliffs overlooking right round the eastern point of the
island to Bembridge

sea and sky

playing with shadows

I spotted this sign along the path on the fence!!

We stopped at Brading Town on our way home

This is the old Town Hall - take a look inside

The five hole stocks
not too keen on the leaves and the weeds that are growing in there!

walking on around the corner from the Church and the Town Hall

Over the road this beautiful building - The Rectory Mansion

On our way home I spotted this tractor ploughing the field

heading back to the car was this lovely piece of machinery

and these gorgeous colours growing wildly in the hedge

* Another day out *

We had a stroll around Yarmouth on our way to watching fellow runners taking part in the
Isle of Wight marathon
(which celebrates it's 60th year in 2016 and is the oldest continuously run marathon in the country)
156 finishers took part this year

the runners came down this lovely scheduled path which got them off the road

here comes Mick who is running along the cycle path

I had time to look at the view over the side of the path
the runners didn't.

After all the runners had passed us we wandered back to the car taking in the views along the way

There is this sluice

The old Yarmouth railway station which closed in 1966 has now been opened as a café
and everything around has been painted and mended

I love this sign

Heading back up the path look at what is just growing wildly around us in the hedgerow

Over the hedge

I hope you have enjoyed our small stroll around this beautiful island

Thanks for popping by

Xx Joy Xx

PS

Bridget ran her first ever marathon and here she is coming up to the 20 mile mark
she has another 6 miles 385 yards to go - she did fantastically

Bridget made these

and turned them into this as the rounds progressed

and finally onto the border for a blanket on Abbie (her daughter's) bed!!

She had time to train for her first ever marathon in between crocheting - BRILLIANT!!

ttfn xxxx
